Second Stage Round 5: Triglav - Celje 55-80

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Triglav (13-2) in Kranj on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Celje (13-2) 80-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Triglav. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Triglav turnovers. The former international point guard Blaza Ceh (181-2003) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points. The former international center Mojca Jelenc (200-2003) contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Celje's coach Damir Grgic felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-1993) answered with 18 points and center Lara Bubnic (190-1999) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Triglav. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Triglav. Celje is looking forward to face Konjice (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Triglav will play against Ilrija (#4) in Ljubljana and is hoping to win this game.
