There was no surprise in Bursa where 10th ranked Besiktas (13-13) was edged by eighth ranked Tofas (15-11) 81-80 on Saturday. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-1989, college: Wyoming) fired 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. International center Muhsin Yasar (210-1995) chipped in 20 points. The former international Egehan Arna (202-1997) produced 17 points and 7 assists and American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tofas moved-up to seventh place. Besiktas lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Tofas will meet higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Besiktas will play against Turk Telekom (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
