Second Stage Round 8: Kapfenberg - Vienna 86-95
Date: April 2, 2022
The game between Top Four teams took place in Kapfenberg. 4th ranked host Kapfenberg Bulls (11-13) lost to first ranked BC Vienna (21-2) 95-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kapfenberg Bulls. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Kapfenberg Bulls won second period 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by the former international forward Enis Murati (194-1988, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American center Michael Hughes (203-1998, college: Duquesne) supported him with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Even 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American guard Derryck Thornton (190-1997, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Kapfenberg Bulls. Serbian forward Milos Grubor (201-1991) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Five BC Vienna and four Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. BC Vienna have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-2 record. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with St.Poelten. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
