Second Stage Round 8: St.Poelten - UBSC Graz 80-82

The most shocking disappointment of round 8 in the BSL was only two-point a home defeat of 5th ranked UBC St. Poelten (11-13) to sixth ranked UBSC Graz (12-12) 82-80 in the game for the fourth place. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and guard Paul Isbetcherian (169-2000) who added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Finnish guard Aapeli Alanen (201-1996, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and American forward Chris Ferguson (206-1989, college: Mid-Continent) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. UBC St. Poelten's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. UBSC Graz moved-up to fourth place. UBC St. Poelten lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Kapfenberg. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
