Regular Season Round 30: Constanta - Voluntari 83-77

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Voluntari (21-4) against eleventh ranked Constanta (11-15) on Saturday night. Visiting Voluntari was defeated by Constanta in a tough game in Constanta 77-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Voluntari. Voluntari was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 46-36 second half run of Constanta. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Voluntari's 26. They outrebounded Voluntari 38-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Saint Lucian-Canadian guard Adika Peter-McNeilly (190-1993, college: Ryerson) notched 20 points to lead the effort and American center Jakob Lowrance (206-1997, college: Central Mo., agency: One Motive Sports) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds by American center Eric Thompson (204-1993, college: Pacific) did not help to save the game for Voluntari. Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-1989) added 21 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Constanta moved-up to tenth place. Voluntari at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Constanta will play against higher ranked Dinamo B. (#8) in Bucuresti in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Voluntari will play at home against Steaua B. (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
