Regular Season Round 28: Bamberg - Frankfurt 75-72
Date: April 3, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Skyliners (6-21) were edged on the road by tenth ranked Brose Bamberg (13-14) 75-72 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Brose Bamberg forced 19 Skyliners turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American swingman Chris Dowe (189-1991, college: Bellarmine, agency: GoEmpire Group) who scored that evening 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and international power forward Christian Sengfelder (202-1995, college: Boise St.) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points and 5 assists by Polish guard Marcel Ponitka (194-1997) did not help to save the game for Skyliners. American forward Rasheed Moore (198-1995, college: ESU) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Brose Bamberg have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place. Skyliners lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Brose Bamberg will meet at home higher ranked Chemnitz (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Skyliners will play against the league's leader Telekom Baskets (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
