Regular Season Round 21: Saule - SKM II 99-69

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Saule (5-15) crushed 9th ranked SKM II (6-15) in Siauliai 99-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Saule led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to SKM II's 24. Saule forced 23 SKM II turnovers. Eitvidas Juodris (-2004) nailed 33 points (!!!) for the winning side and forward Kajus Leliukas (203-2004) accounted for 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Saule players scored in double figures. Saule's coach Egidijus Vasiliauskas felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Gustautas Bliujus (200-2004) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Mantas Janciauskas (193-2004) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for SKM II in the defeat. Saule maintains eleventh place with 5-15 record. Loser SKM II keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Saule will meet league's leader SKM I in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKM II will play against Zalgiris I (#12) and hope to secure a win.
