Regular Season Round 21: VKM - VKKM 85-67

U18 League round 21 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader VKKM (17-3) against fifth ranked VKM (11-8) 85-67 was the most important game of the last round. The game was mostly controlled by VKM. VKKM managed to win third quarter 17-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded VKKM 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. VKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for guard Laurynas Klimas (182-2004) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Danielius Kasparas (198-2004) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five VKM players scored in double figures. VKM's coach Linas Salkus used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Arnas Knystautas (186-2004) answered with 22 points and 8 assists and forward Mantas Mockevicius (197-2004) added 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for VKKM. VKM moved-up to fourth place. VKKM at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by SKM I. VKKM will play next round against strong Zalgiris II trying to make it back to the top of the standings. VKM will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked RasKKSC in Klaipeda.
