Regular Season Round 34: Tuebingen - Karlsruhe PS 112-85
Date: April 4, 2022
There was no surprise when 7th ranked Lions (17-13) were outleveled by second ranked Tigers (23-9) in Tuebingen 112-85 on Monday. Tigers made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lions' players. Austrian swingman Erol Ersek (193-1999) notched 24 points to lead the effort and naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Tigers' coach Daniel Jansson felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 22 points by American forward Leo Behrend (199-1996, college: Ave Maria) did not help to save the game for Lions. His fellow American import guard Stanley Whittaker (183-1994, college: Keiser) added 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Five Tigers and four Lions players scored in double figures. Tigers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 23-9 record having just one point less than leader Rostock. Loser Lions dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lions will play against Schwenningen (#13) and hope to secure a win.
