The game in Kapfenberg was also quite interesting. Third ranked Gunners Oberwart (13-11) played at the court of 6th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (11-14). Gunners Oberwart managed to secure a 5-point victory 83-78 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kapfenberg Bulls won fourth quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gunners Oberwart dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kapfenberg Bulls' 30. They outrebounded Kapfenberg Bulls 38-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. American center Emondre Rickman (208-1996, college: Indiana St., agency: One Motive Sports) notched 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Renato Poljak (202-1997) supported him with 19 points. Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Gunners Oberwart's coach Horst Leitner used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 16 points and 4 assists by American guard Derryck Thornton (190-1997, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Kapfenberg Bulls. Serbian forward Milos Grubor (201-1991) added 14 points and 4 assists for lost side. Gunners Oberwart maintains third position with 13-11 record having just five point less than leader Vienna. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with St.Poelten. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
