Regular Season Round 26: Beroe - Rilski 76-125

NBL top team - Rilski (21-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Beroe (12-11) in Stara Zagora 125-76. Rilski well out of reach of Beroe shooting 72.0 percent from the field. They outrebounded Beroe 42-20 including a 38-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rilski looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Beroe's players. American forward Trey Porter (208-1996, college: Nevada) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Barret Benson (208-1997, college: SIU) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. Rilski's coach Ludmil Hadjisotirov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Damyan Minkov (197-2002) responded with 19 points and swingman Martin Sotirov (201-1999, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 17 points. Five Rilski and four Beroe players scored in double figures. Rilski have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-2 record. Beroe at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Spartak Pleven. Rilski are looking forward to face league's second-placed Balkan in Botevgrad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beroe will play on the road against Chernomorets in Burgas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
