Very predictable result when first ranked Cluj Napoca (24-2) outscored at home 12th ranked Focsani (8-18) 98-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj Napoca. Focsani managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cluj Napoca forced 21 Focsani turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Elijah Stewart (196-1995, college: USC) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. The former international point guard Giordan Watson (179-1985, college: CMU, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 21 points. Cluj Napoca's coach Mihai Silvasan used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American power forward Justin Baker (203-1989, college: Utah Valley) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Russian-Belarusian forward Aliaksandr Pustahvar (201-1985) scored 23 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Defending champion maintains first place with 24-2 record. Focsani lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Cluj Napoca will meet Ploiesti CSM (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Focsani will play against Sibiu (#7) and hope to secure a win.
