Second Stage Round 7: Triglav - Maribor 79-50

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kranj. Second ranked Triglav faced 4th placed Maribor. Host Triglav (15-2) smashed guests from Maribor (5-12) 79-50. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maribor. The game without a history. Triglav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Maribor's 26. Triglav forced 24 Maribor turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Maribor's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Gala Kramzar (180-1999) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-1993) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International power forward Merisa Dautovic (186-1999) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Tina Tomsic (175-2004) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Maribor. Triglav keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Celje. Maribor at the other side keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Ilrija. Triglav will play against Konjice (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Maribor will play against Ilrija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
