Second Stage Round 9: Copenhagen - Wolfpack 80-85

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Copenhagen (9-14) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Wolfpack (5-18) 85-80. Wolfpack looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by Copenhagen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Andreas Mortensen (190-2001) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. Forward Marqus Mitrovic (202-2004) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Spanish guard Andrew Ramirez (188-1997, college: Hartford) answered with 19 points and 6 assists and guard Jacob Hoffman (191-1996, college: Bemidji St.) added 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Copenhagen. Four Copenhagen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Wolfpack maintains third place with 5-18 record having four points less than leader Bakken. Copenhagen at the other side still keeps top position with 14 games lost. They share it with Vaerlose. Wolfpack are looking forward to face Amager (#4) in Kastrup in the next round. Copenhagen will play on the road against Naestved and is hoping to win this game.
