There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked s Oliver Baskets (11-17) defeated on the road 11th ranked Bayreuth (11-18) 83-77 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American guard William Buford (196-1990, college: Ohio St.) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Australian forward Craig Moller (206-1994, agency: BIG) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Marcus Thornton (193-1993, college: William & Mary) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. s Oliver Baskets have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place. Bayreuth lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Oldenburg. s Oliver Baskets will meet at home higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
