Regular Season Round 28: Kronberg - Saarlouis 92-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Saarlouis' (11-11) road loss to fifth ranked Kronberg (14-8) 81-92 on Saturday. The winners were led by naturalized Eritrean forward Jonathan Mesghna (198-1989, college: MSUB) who scored that evening 30 points and 7 rebounds and guard Tim Steiner (186-1992) supported him with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Ricky Easterling (189-1983, college: Bridgewater) did not help to save the game for Saarlouis. Leon Knop added 18 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kronberg moved-up to fourth place in South West, which they share with Tuebingen 2. Saarlouis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Kronberg will meet Mannheim (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saarlouis will play against Fellbach (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
