Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Rasta Vechta (16-15) won against 16th ranked Eagles (4-28) in Itzehoe 84-67 on Saturday. Rasta Vechta forced 19 Eagles turnovers. Swingman Joel-Sadu Aminu (193-1997) notched 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Joschka Ferner (202-1996) supported him with 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. Rasta Vechta's coach Vladimir Lucic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 32 points and 4 assists by American Christopher Hooper (198-1991, college: SFC) did not help to save the game for Eagles. Latvian center Viktors Iljins (212-1991) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Rasta Vechta have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place. Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the sixteenth position with 28 games lost. Rasta Vechta will meet at home higher ranked Science City Jena (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eagles will have a break next round.
