There was a small surprise in Klosterneuburg where tenth ranked Dukes (7-16) defeated 8th ranked Timberwolves (8-15) 75-61 on Sunday. Dukes dominated on the defensive end, holding Timberwolves to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 23 Timberwolves turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward James Murray-Boyles (201-1997, college: UNCP, agency: Players Group) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Valentin Bauer (183-1994, college: Mars Hill) chipped in 9 points and 7 assists. Slovenian center Ziga Fifolt (210-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Elias Wlasak (190-2000) added 8 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dukes maintains tenth place with 7-16 record. Loser Timberwolves keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Arkadia. Dukes will meet higher ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Timberwolves will play against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
