Second Stage Round 3: CAB Madeira - Lusitania 111-77

No shocking result in a game when CAB Madeira (14-11) crushed Lusitania (11-14) in Funchal 111-77 on Wednesday. CAB Madeira forced 21 Lusitania turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Kai Mitchell (201-1997, college: SHSU) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Fred Thomas (196-1993, college: MSU) accounted for 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. CAB Madeira's coach Joao Silva felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Kazembe Abif (201-1992, college: Drexel) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Julien Ducree (206-1996, college: Dixie St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Lusitania in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. CAB Madeira will meet Imortal (#6) in the next round. Lusitania will play against Povoa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
