There was no surprise in Istanbul where 10th ranked Tofas (5-14) was defeated by seventh ranked Fenerbahce (10-9) 87-69 on Thursday. Fenerbahce forced 21 Tofas turnovers. Guard Berkay Yilmaz (180-2003) scored 29 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Eren Deniz (201-2004) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Abdullah Aksoy (195-2004) responded with 22 points and guard Cem Kucukozkan (191-2005) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Tofas' coach Caner Topaloglu tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fenerbahce moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pinar Karsiyaka. Tofas lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Turk Telekom. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Besiktas.
