Second Stage Round 10: Galatasaray - Tesvikiye 78-77

A very close game took place in Istanbul between Galatasaray and Tesvikiye. Fifth ranked Galatasaray (11-8) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Tesvikiye (8-11). Galatasaray managed to escape with a 1-point win 78-77 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Tesvikiye. Guard Ege Yildizoglu (186-2004) scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Acar Sen (193-2003) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side Ege Eskinazi (-2002) responded with 19 points and 5 assists and Utku Pelit (-2003) scored 16 points. Five Tesvikiye players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Galatasaray moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Darussafaka. Loser Tesvikiye keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Galatasaray will meet league's leader Gaziantep on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tesvikiye will play against Turk Telekom (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
