Regular Season Round 32: Oradea - Timisoara 78-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Timisoara's (17-11) road loss to fourth ranked Oradea (21-7) 72-78 on Friday. Timisoara was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-19 charge of Oradea, which allowed them to win the game. Oradea outrebounded Timisoara 33-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American Mark Ogden (206-1994, college: Dixie St.) who scored that evening 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-1989) supported him with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists by American point guard Gary Talton (185-1990, college: UIC, agency: 011 Sports) did not help to save the game for Timisoara. International center Alexandru Olah (210-1993, college: Northwestern) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Five Oradea and four Timisoara players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oradea have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Timisoara dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Oradea will meet league's second-placed Voluntari on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timisoara will play against Miercurea Ciuc (#16) and hope to secure a win.
