Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Hakro Merlins (15-13) won against 12th ranked Bayreuth (11-20) in Crailsheim 90-85 on Saturday. Hakro Merlins looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jaren Lewis (198-1996, college: ACU) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Terrell Harris (191-1993, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Players Group) accounted for 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side. American swingman Sacar Anim (196-1997, college: Marquette) came up with 23 points and 5 assists and the former international point guard Bastian Doreth (183-1989, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 11 points and 10 assists respectively for Bayreuth in the defeat. Five Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hakro Merlins have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain ninth place with 15-13 record. Bayreuth lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Oldenburg.
