We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 14th ranked Yalova (7-21) was edged on the road by fifteenth ranked Socar Petkim (7-21) 81-80 on Sunday. American Sean Armand (193-1991, college: Iona, agency: Slash Sports) notched 22 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Erol Can Cinko (188-1990) supported him with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Socar Petkim's coach Burak Goren used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by Slovenian point guard Luka Rupnik (186-1993) did not help to save the game for Yalova. The former international Ilkan Karaman (205-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) added 8 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Socar Petkim moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with defeated Yalova. Yalova lost fourth consecutive game. Socar Petkim will meet higher ranked Merkezefendi (#13) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yalova will play against Acibadem and hope to secure a win.
