There was no surprise when 16th ranked MBC (10-21) lost to sixth ranked Chemnitz (19-10) in Weissenfels 89-96 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for American-Haitian guard Frantz Massenat (193-1992, college: Drexel) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 8 assists. American guard Trent Lockett (196-1990, college: Marquette) accounted for 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-1992, college: Howard Col., TX) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American guard Jamel Morris (193-1992, college: Fairmont St.) added 23 points respectively for MBC in the defeat. Five Chemnitz and four MBC players scored in double figures. MBC's coach Igor Jovovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemnitz have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ulm. MBC lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Chemnitz will meet at home Braunschweig (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MBC will play against s Oliver Baskets in Wuerzburg and hope to secure a win.
