Bottom-ranked Skyliners managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of six consecutive losses. This time they outleveled twelfth-ranked EWE Baskets in Oldenburg 88-69. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference proves that Skyliners was well-prepared to that game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to EWE Baskets' 18 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Skyliners forced 23 EWE Baskets turnovers. EWE Baskets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Rasheed Moore (198-1995, college: ESU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Will Cherry (185-1991, college: Montana) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. Five Skyliners players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Phil Pressey (180-1991, college: Missouri) responded with 19 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and TJ Holyfield (203-1995, college: Texas Tech) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Skyliners (7-24) moved-up to seventeenth place. EWE Baskets at the other side keep the twelfth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth. Skyliners will play against bottom-ranked 46ers (#18) in Giessen in the next round. EWE Baskets will play on the road against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
