There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Braunschweig (12-19) defeated on the road higher ranked Chemnitz (20-11) 77-68 on Saturday. Braunschweig forced 25 Chemnitz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Czech point guard Ondrej Sehnal (196-1997) who scored 10 points and 9 assists. Czech center Martin Peterka (205-1995) chipped in 14 points. Four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Braunschweig's coach Jesus Ramirez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Isiaha Mike (203-1997, college: SMU) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Jonas Richter (205-1997) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Braunschweig moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Chemnitz keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Braunschweig will meet MBC (#16) in the next round. Chemnitz will play against 46ers (#17) in Giessen and hope to secure a win.
