Ninth-ranked Tofas (15-14) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Galatasaray (19-10) in Istanbul on Sunday. Galatasaray managed to secure only one-point victory 90-89. However their fans expected much easier game. Galatasaray made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Melo Trimble (190-1995, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach Andreas Pistiolis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Canadian point guard Tyler Ennis (188-1994, college: Syracuse) produced 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Elgin Cook (197-1993, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Galatasaray have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Darussafaka. Tofas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Galatasaray will meet Turk Telekom (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tofas will play against Afyon Bld in Afyonkarahisar and hope to secure a win.
