Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Fethiye (9-19) was outplayed on the road by tenth ranked Balikesir (13-15) 106-81 on Sunday. Balikesir dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Fethiye's 34 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Fethiye 52-34 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Balikesir looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international Umit Sonkol (206-1982) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Carlton Bragg Jr (208-1995, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Ali Uruk felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Muhammet Kalkan (203-2000) with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Ogun Sevinc (198-1988) scored 17 points. Balikesir have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with TED Ankara. Fethiye lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. Balikesir will meet league's leader Manisa on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fethiye will play against Konyaspor (#3) and hope to secure a win.
