There was a surprise result in Izmir where eleventh ranked Turk Telekom (6-15) defeated higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (11-10) 87-79 on Monday. Turk Telekom made 36-of-47 free shots (76.6 percent) during the game, while Pinar Karsiyaka only scored seventeen points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Ismet Ozturk (-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Batuhan Acar (179-2002) chipped in 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bugra Cal (-2004) who recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Anil Karaca (-2003) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Pinar Karsiyaka's coach Sinan Aksoylar let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Turk Telekom moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tofas. Loser Pinar Karsiyaka dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Gelisim Koleji. Turk Telekom will meet at home Tofas (#10) in the next round. Pinar Karsiyaka's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Izmir to the arena Ozel Gelisim Koleji.
