Keravnos upset Apoel in the opener. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Apoel won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Deondre Burns (190-1997, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Collin Malcolm (200-1997, college: WPU) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Travin Thibodeaux (203-1996, college: New Orleans) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Dayon Griffin (196-1995, college: UCF) scored 19 points and 4 assists.
