Regular Season Round 33: MBC - Braunschweig 91-79

We should mention about the upset which took place in Weissenfels, where higher ranked Braunschweig (12-20) lost to sixteenth ranked MBC (11-22) in a road game 79-91 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Braunschweig. MBC shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. American guard AJ English (192-1992, college: Iona) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Jamel Morris (193-1992, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. MBC's coach Igor Jovovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman David Kramer (196-1997) with 19 points and naturalized Croatian center Benedikt Turudic (207-1997) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. MBC moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Bayreuth. Loser Braunschweig dropped to the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. MBC will meet at home higher ranked Hamburg Towers (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Braunschweig will play against Brose Bamberg (#8) and hope to secure a win.
