There was no surprise in Angra where 7th ranked Lusitania (12-16) was crushed by fifth ranked CAB Madeira (17-11) 104-81 on Saturday. CAB Madeira shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American forward Fred Thomas (196-1993, college: MSU) scored 41 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Diogo Peixe (190-2000) chipped in 13 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Fernando Ferreira (198-1994) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American Alexander Thompson (203-1995, college: Samford) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CAB Madeira have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 17-11 record. Loser Lusitania dropped to the sixth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Povoa and Imortal.
