The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Telekom Baskets (26-8) on the court of fifth ranked Chemnitz on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Chemnitz 90-68. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Telekom Baskets. Chemnitz looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Darion Atkins (203-1992, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian Mindaugas Susinskas (204-1995) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. American swingman Tyson Ward (198-1997, college: NDSU) replied with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Javontae Hawkins (196-1993, college: Fordham) added 12 points in the effort for Telekom Baskets. Telekom Baskets' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Chemnitz (22-11) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ludwigsburg. Telekom Baskets at the other side still keep top position with eight games lost.
