There was a minor upset in Istanbul where much higher ranked Besiktas (15-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Galatasaray (13-9) 79-64 on Sunday. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Besiktas' players. Guard Ege Yildizoglu (186-2004) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Acar Sen (193-2003) chipped in 21 points. Guard Yagiz Aksu (192-2005) produced 23 points and Emir Adiguzel (-2003) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Galatasaray moved-up to third place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Loser Besiktas keeps the second position with seven games lost.
