Liga I top team - Targu Mures (21-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Agronomia (12-10) in Bucuresti 88-48. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Mures. Agronomia managed to win second period 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Targu Mures held Agronomia to an opponent 24.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Agronomia 57-28 including a 41-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Targu Mures looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Agronomia's players. Center Szabolcs Santa (208-1987) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ioan Borsa (201-1990) chipped in 9 points and 19 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Arnold Stoicescu (-2002) responded with 9 points and guard Alexandru Lazar (187-2002) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Targu Mures have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Targu Mures maintains first position with 21-1 record, which they share with Stiinta. Agronomia at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost.
