Ulm BBU 01 used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Kronberg 109-66 on Saturday night. Ulm BBU 01 dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kronberg's 30. Ulm BBU 01 forced 25 Kronberg turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kronberg's players. Lenny Liedtke (198-2004) nailed 23 points for the winning side and Thomas Gaus (194-2002) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Ulm BBU 01's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Julian Reinwald (210) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Yannick Schicktanz (186-1990) added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Kronberg in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ulm BBU 01 will meet Giessen Ak. on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
