Tarsus defeated Elazig Karabulut in Mersin 82-66. Tarsus forced 21 Elazig Karabulut turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Elazig Karabulut helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Sasha Goodlett (195-1990, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Hande Kuzu (182-1990) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Four Tarsus players scored in double figures. American guard Ameryst Alston (175-1993, college: Ohio St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Betul Gulec (183-1997) added 10 points in the effort for Elazig Karabulut. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Elazig Karabulut will play next round against Manisa trying to get back on the winning streak. Tarsus will try to continue on its current victory against Urla in Izmir.
