Regular Season Round 1: Timisoara - Focsani 81-69

Timisoara used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Focsani 81-69 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Timisoara. Focsani managed to win third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian point guard Ilija Djokovic (191-1996) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists for the winners. Serbian center Igor Kesar (210-1992, agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 17 points. Four Timisoara players scored in double figures. American Brandon Austin (196-1995, college: Samford) produced 26 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Monyea Pratt (196-1985, college: Stillman) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Timisoara will meet Laguna S. in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Focsani will play against Dinamo B. and hope to win that game.
