Regular Season Round 1: Zalgiris - Tornado KM 77-74

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tornado KM in Kaunas on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Zalgiris I 77-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tornado KM won fourth quarter 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tornado KM 59-35 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Mantas Kocanas (207-2005) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Tomas Stankevicius (-2005) chipped in 19 points. Four Zalgiris I players scored in double figures. Armandas Bancevicius (-2006) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Edvinas Bublys (181-2005) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zalgiris I is looking forward to face Panevezio on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tornado KM will play against VKKM and is hoping to win this game.
