Regular Season Round 4: Westerstede - Wusterhausen 96-76

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Westerstede and 11th ranked WSG Koenigs had identical 1-2 record. This time Westerstede used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Wildau 96-76 on Saturday night. Westerstede made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 WSG Koenigs turnovers. The winners were led by point guard Fritz Hemschemeier (182-1998) who scored that evening 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Luca Michels (183-2002) supported him with 24 points. Even 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by American Andrew Jones (191-1983, college: Miles) did not help to save the game for WSG Koenigs. Amani Ogette (201-1998) added 4 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Westerstede (2-2) moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Braunschweig and Goetting.ASC. Loser WSG Koenigs dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Bergedorf and Bargteheide. Westerstede will meet league's leader Neustadt TSV on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. WSG Koenigs will have a break next round.
