Regular Season Round 4: BG TVO / Jahn - Ibbenbueren 95-90
Date: October 8, 2022
Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Ibbenbueren (0-3) lost on the road to eighth ranked Jahn Lindhorst (2-1) 95-90 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Jahn Lindhorst forced 20 Ibbenbueren turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Jahn Lindhorst made 10 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Shawn Scott (185-1996, college: SW Christian) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Marcel Weiss supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Worth to mention Scott played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Jahn Lindhorst's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds by Kai Hanig did not help to save the game for Ibbenbueren. American-Spanish Marco Porcher Jimenez (193-1992, college: FIU) added 21 points and 6 assists for lost side. Jahn Lindhorst moved-up to third place in West, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Ibbenbueren still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Aachen and Koeln DTV. Jahn Lindhorst will meet Hagen-Haspe (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ibbenbueren will play against Koeln DTV and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
