Regular Season Round 1: Gemlik - Final Spor 71-84

An interesting game was played in Bursa where Final Spor beat host Gemlik 84-71 on Saturday evening. Final Spor had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Erdem Ilter (186-1990) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners and Talat Alp Altunbey (204-1994) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Final Spor players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jeremy Sheppard (185-1997, college: URI, agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with 20 points and guard Enis Col (185-2003) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Final Spor will meet at home Kocaeli in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gemlik will play against Samsunspor and hope to win that game.
