But Towers were not able to use a home court advantage and were edged by the opponent from Dornbirn 86-84 on Saturday night. Towers were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of Lions, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Towers turnovers. Greek forward Eugenios Sergienko (200-1998) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and Croatian center Jaksa Sola (202-1999) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side forward Fabio Thaler (198-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Slovenian guard Luka Bozak (185-2000) scored 18 points and 9 assists. Four Towers players scored in double figures. Lions will meet at home KOS in the next round. Towers will play against Mustangs in Mistelbach and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
