Everything could happen in Utena at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Juventus and bottom-ranked Neptunas had identical 0-3 record. This time Juventus used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Klaipeda 95-77 on Saturday night. Juventus dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas' 36. They outrebounded Neptunas 40-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Justin Alston (203-1994, college: Boston U.) who scored that evening 28 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and Zygimantas Skucas (202-1992, agency: BIG) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Even 19 points and 4 assists by the former international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-1989) did not help to save the game for Neptunas. The former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-1988) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Juventus (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Neptunas' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Prienai CBet and Gargzdu. Juventus will meet at home higher ranked Lietkabelis (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Neptunas will play against Prienai CBet (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
