Everything went according to plan when leader Neustadt TSV (5-0) outplayed at home 6th ranked Westerstede (2-3) 101-59 on Saturday. Neustadt TSV dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Westerstede's 24. Neustadt TSV forced 34 Westerstede turnovers. Croatian Matej Jelovcic (185-1998) nailed 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals for the winning side and Christenvie Kwilu (197-2000) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Fritz Hemschemeier (182-1998) came up with 12 points and 4 assists and Serbian guard Nikica Nikolic (192-2000) added 14 points respectively for Westerstede in the defeat. Five Neustadt TSV and four Westerstede players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neustadt TSV have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 5-0 record. Loser Westerstede dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Neustadt TSV will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Westerstede will play against SG Braunschweig (#4) and hope to secure a win.
