The game between closely ranked teams ended with Rist Wedel's (1-1) road victory over Giessen Pointers (0-3) 94-87 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Harrison Cleary (185-1997, college: UMC) who scored 30 points and 8 assists. Center Christian Okolie (206-2000) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Jalen Gibbs (190-1999, college: JSU) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and Benjamin Lischka (204-1989, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rist Wedel will meet at home RheinStars (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giessen Pointers will play against Vechta-2 (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
