Regular Season Round 4: Olivais - Vagos 47-69
Date: October 15, 2022
Everything could happen in Coimbra at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Vagos and bottom-ranked Olivais had identical 0-3 record. But Olivais were not able to use a home court advantage and were smashed by the opponent from Vagos 69-47 on Saturday night. Vagos outrebounded Olivais 42-22 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian-American center Allison Zalin (183-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Kwanza Murray (176-1996, college: Lincoln, PA) who added 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Vagos players scored in double figures. At the losing side Erica Ferreira responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Joana Andrade (-1997) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vagos (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. It was Olivais' fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with CDEFF. Vagos will meet league's second-placed Esgueira in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Olivais will play against GDESSA (#7) in Barreiro and hope to get finally their first victory.
