Samsunspor used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Bursa 77-52 on Sunday night. Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and American point guard Marquis Wright (185-1995, college: Siena) supported him with 12 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Four Samsunspor players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 4 assists by American guard Jeremy Sheppard (185-1997, college: URI, agency: Mansfield and Associates) did not help to save the game for Gemlik. Nigerian power forward Osinachi Smart (203-1997, college: Charleston) added 7 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Samsunspor will meet Kocaeli in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gemlik will play against Balikesir and hope to win that game.
