Lions used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Trier 107-101 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was center Maurice Pluskota (209-1992, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds. Naturalized Ivorian guard Bazoumana Kone (190-1993, college: Bremerhaven) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Lions' coach Aleksandar Scepanovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American Parker Van Dyke (191-1994, college: Utah) who recorded 29 points and point guard Garai Zeeb (187-1997) added 21 points and 8 assists respectively. Five Lions and four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Lions will meet Muenster (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gladiators will play against Artland Dragons (#15) and hope to get finally their first victory.
